Dr. James C.E. Faulkner Dr. James C. E. Faulkner is Senior Pastor of
the St. Paul Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon. He is an energetic and inspirational Gospel Preacher, with a deep knowledge
and understanding of the Word of God coupled with the ability to make it plain has also served to earn him the reputation
as an outstanding Bible Teacher. Pastor Faulkner has done extensive research in the methods of evangelism, discipleship, and
church growth.
Pastor Faulkner had drafting in high school but wanted
more so he finished a class that summer from Chicago Technical Institution. He got a job as a draftsman with Lindley Box and
Paper Company designing packages to hold items from tools to flowers. In 1954 he took a job with (RCA) Radio Corporation of
America. In his seventeen years with RCA, he started out as a department set up man. While working on the night shift he enrolled
at Marion College and later at Purdue University working on his degree in Business Administration. As his education increased
so did his responsibilities at RCA. He became an Engineering Assistant and later a Supervisor, the only African American Supervisor
out of 100 in that plant. In 1971 he moved to Portland, Oregon taking a job with Safeco Insurance Company as a Records Supervisor, then advancing to the Manager position of the Accounting Department and over all Commercial Operations. He retired on June 30, 1995. Pastor Faulkner has continued to pursue his studies, earning a Doctor of Divinity degree in March, 2000 from the University of Carolina School of Theology.
Pastor Faulkner became the Senior Pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church on March 15,
1975. Under the leadership and administration of Pastor Faulkner, the church have continually grown with forward thinking
ideals as: Departmental Sunday School, an enlarged Missionary Ministry, New Membership Class, Wednesday Night Family Bible
Study, Five Choirs, Birthday groups, Child Mentoring, an outreach team called the Love Connection and many other worthy ministries.
The Church has completely remodeled our facility with the last improvement was 42 new vinyl windows and a new roof all has
been completed through the teaching that a Church is supported with Tithes and Offerings.
